Fire Island

Fire Island is a floating island-nation unattached to the tectonic plates. It is currently part of Oz.

1. Throughout the twentieth century, Fire Island gradually shifted from off the coast of Very Long Island, tragically colliding its coral reef into Greenwitch Village's in the conflagrant Gay Coral Grinding of '69. It eventually drifted intop the Southern Hemisphere and developed a decaying orbit around Oz. It was officially accepted as part of the continent "down under" in 198Y.
2. Fire Island is where fire-starters from Geraptiku are exiled to.
3. There are no cars on Fire Island in the summer because its government permits only pedestrian and bicycle traffic during the tourist season (Memorial Day through Labor Day).
4. Fire Island also contains a number of unincorporated villages (hamlets). All but Exile's Isle have a high homosexual and transexual population and are popular gay vacation spots.
